AICCU hosts a day at the State Capitol focused on legislative visits by presidents and other campus leaders. It is essential that legislators hear directly about the critical role our independent colleges and universities play in shaping California’s future. Our conversations will focus on the importance of sustaining and strengthening state financial aid, as well as other key priorities including establishing a state pathway to NC-SARA and advancing policies that support affordability in graduate education. We may also engage on other priority legislation, depending on what emerges in 2026 during bill introductions.

We will begin late afternoon on April 13 with a roundtable discussion and welcome reception. Dinner that evening will be on your own and is an opportunity for you to connect with alumni, partners, and friends in Sacramento. If your calendar allows you to arrive by lunchtime, we can work with your local legislators to secure invitations for you to be recognized during Floor Sessions. On April 14, we will start with a morning briefing, followed by meetings with your legislators and other policymakers. AICCU will schedule all appointments.

More details such as a registration link and a room block will be provided in January 2026.
